FAQ

Can I download videos from private accounts?

No. IG video download only works for content that is already public. If a post cannot be viewed in a logged-out browser, our tool cannot reach it either. This is intentional — we respect account privacy settings.

How is this different from browser extensions or mobile apps?

You do not need to install anything or grant permissions to your Instagram account. Everything happens through a normal web page. There is also no risk of the extension breaking after an Instagram update or of an app requesting unnecessary access.

Is downloading Instagram videos legal?

Saving public content for personal, offline use is generally acceptable. An IG video saver does not transfer copyright — it remains with the original creator. Do not redistribute or use the files commercially without permission.

Is there a limit on how many videos I can download?

Free users have a daily allowance on this Insta video saver. Premium removes most of those limits and unlocks bulk and full-profile downloads, so you can download video from Instagram at higher volume. Pro plans are designed for teams and very high volume.

Where does the file go on my phone or computer?

If you are looking up how to save a video from Instagram, the destination depends on the device. On desktop the file lands in your browser’s default Downloads folder. On Android a save IG video file usually appears in Downloads or the Gallery. On iPhone you can save it to the Files app or Photos. Exact behavior depends on your browser and system settings.

Why do some downloaded videos show "Media Offline" in editing software?

Instagram sometimes serves VP9 video inside an MP4 container. An Instagram video saver without watermark still delivers that original container, so certain older editing programs struggle with the combination. Re-muxing or converting the file to a more compatible codec (for example H.264) usually solves the issue. Most modern players and editors handle the files without problems.

Why is the video sometimes 720p instead of 1080p?

Instagram does not always expose a 1080p progressive file for public content. In many cases the highest single-file version available is 720p. When you save Instagram video through this MP4 video downloader, we use separate higher-resolution streams if they exist — we never invent quality that Instagram itself does not provide.
